Design Thursday #69
A weekly recap of everything you need to know about tools, events, guidelines and design in general.
New in Webflow
Webflow has released quite a few new things, including actual real-time collaboration, improved on-canvas editing for CMS items, Webflow Cloud is now out of beta, and support for LLM training.
Real time collaboration
Previously, you had to hand over design access to another user when you wanted to make design changes. Now you can make changes with multiple people at the same time. It's still in beta, but you can sign up for it to work even better together with multiple people.

llms.txt
Just like a robots.txt file where you tell a search engine how to crawl your website, llms.txt does a similar thing, but for large language models. It's a plain-text file that lets you give a curated overview of your website's content and how you want the LLM to interpret it. You can now add that file in your site settings.

Webflow Cloud
Webflow Cloud allows you to host web apps next to your website. It will be powered by Webflow's hosting infrastructure, so you don't have to worry about it. This allows you to build a marketing website via Webflow's interface and a web app using your own tech stack.
Figma Make updates
Figma released 2 new updates for Make: Mobile Preview and Version naming. When you switch to preview mode, you now have a mobile option with a dropdown of mobile devices. You can also choose your own dimensions in the editor, so you no longer need to resize your browser or Figma window. For code edit history, you can now name your versions so you can easily keep track of every code edit you made. So you can quickly go back to a previous version if anything gets messed up.
Figma Variable updates
The Variables modal got a bit of a refresh. It now opens edge-to-edge so you can see more variables at once. And you have a new search and filter option to find variables even faster.
Rive color theming
Rive's Early Access got some new features, including colors in property groups. This will let you create dynamic themes, modes, and lighting effects. Great for dark mode and custom themes.
Shipping designs with AI at Anthropic
Figma hosted a live session with Meaghan Choi, Product Designer at Anthropic, and Akbar Mirza, Developer Advocate at Figma. They showed how to bring AI to code via Claude Code & Figma MCP.
