Framer Spring Event

Framer held it’s latest event where it showcased and released 4 big new features:

Advanced Analytics

More powerful analytics that let’s you track clicks, build funnels and even setup A/B tests. It’s so easy to setup that you might not need any addition analytics tool for your website.

Vectors

A whole new vector editing mode with support for Motion out of the box. You can also create vector sets, which is great for icon libraries which get their own picker windon on the canvas to easily see all your vectors.

Wireframer

Love the name. An AI wireframe builder that can be published and discussed with a client without any problem. Framer went the wireframe route to keep all the creativity to the designer. And honestly, this is probably better than generic AI created web designs.

Workshop

Another AI feature to build powerful custom components like an analogue clock which showcases the real time based on the visitor’s device. What’s great, it can automatically setup component properties so you can customize the component without ever having to touch code.

Figma Sites accessibility updates

When Figma released the first beta of Sites it got some criticism over the sites not being accessible. It had some accessibility settings, but it could have been better. It’s great to see that they are listening to user feedback and they have already released some updates:

  • More semantic tags like <button> and <a> are now used
  • Keyboard navigation has improved
  • Text layers now automatically include a <p> tag
  • Untagged images are no longer announced as background images

Google Stitch

During Google IO a lot of new AI tools were announced. One of them is Stitch, available now via Labs. It’s a UI builder for apps and websites that can be exported to code, but even better Figma, so you can continue working on it to improve the design.

Webflow Collection list improvements

Webflow released 3 new improvements for Collection lists to make them more powerful than before.

  • Collection list component properties: You can now assign filter, sort, and limit settings from a Collection list to component properties. So you can reuse them better while still having the flexibility to decide what to display like related items or recent items.
  • Curated Content lists: this is a new list type where you can select which items to display without having to setup any filters or sorting. You just select what to show via a dropdown menu. No need anymore for single item Collection lists to showcase specific cases or blogposts.
  • Increased nested Collection lists limits: you can now nest up to 2 lists and up to 10 items in each nested list. This is double the amount you could nest before.
