Material Design 3 Expressive
After some leaks, Google officially announced Material Design 3 Expressive. A new adaptation of Material Design aiming to bring more vibrant colors, intuitive motion, adaptive components, flexible typography and contrasting shapes to design. In their research they found out that people perform task way faster and better by using more expressive design elements like large colorful buttons with irregular shapes, different from other UI elements. But they clearly state that functionality is still more important compared to visual expressiveness.
Hana align to path
A small but powerful feature is now available in Spline Hana, align to path. This allows you to select an object, choose an other object as path and your animation is ready. Simple as that.
Plugins 3.2 in Framer
Ever since Framer started supporting plugins, they have been gradually expanding the supported features. Now it's adding APIs to manage redirects, this can for example allow you to export all of your site's redirects, bulk edit it or use it for an SEO audit and import it again. It also adds a preferredImageRendering option to the images API.

Webflow classes changes & localization updates
There were a few improvements released for recently modified classes. When you open the styles selector, it will now show recently edited classes to give you easier to access to classes you've been working on.
Next to that localization also got an update for components. When you now create or unlink a component all localization will remain, which wasn't the case before, you had to localize everything again. This will now also work when duplicating a component or adding new properties to an existing component.
Penpot 2.7
Penpot 2.7 is released and adds some design token updates. You can now duplicate token sets with a simple right click. And improvements have been made to let you more easily invite other people to your projects.
Framer's day of shipping
On May 21, Framer will have their next big feature update livestream. You can already add it to your calendar, but you'll still have to wait a few more days before you can see what they've been working on.
FlutterFlow's 4th anniversary
FlutterFlow is promising some big updates for their 4th birthday party on May 28. It's still to weeks away, but that leaves you enough time to RSVP, all will be available on their Youtube livestream.
