Design Thursday #58
A weekly recap of everything you need to know about tools, events, guidelines and design in general.
Comment improvements in Webflow
You can now share a link to a specific comment, react with emoji, click on links in comments and copy-paste the text of the comment. These are small features, but will bring a lot of quality-of-life improvements.

Animated images in Whisk
Google Whisk now lets you animate generated images to make them come to live even more. Add an image, write your prompt and it will generate a 8 second video using Veo 2, Google's video model. It's now available for Google One AI Premium subscribers, although it does not seem to be available yet in European countries.
Try it out once available on Whisk
Canva Code
Canva will be releasing an AI Code Generator over the coming months to let you build products using prompts. It's very similar to tools like Lovable, but integrated in Canva designs, presentations, social media posts, and more.
Data Binding in Rive
Data Binding is now available for all users, it was previously an early access feature. With data binding you can implement pass along data, colors, ... to your Rive animation to make it more powerful.
Right now it supports these properties, with lists and images coming soon:
- Numbers
- Booleans
- Triggers
- Strings
- Enumerations
- Colors
- Nesting
Data binding is supported on all runtimes, except for Flutter & React native which is coming soon. React is partially supported, with hooks coming soon.
