New in Figma

  • Connected Projects: freelancers and agencies can now work more easily together with clients on projects using their own seats, while still being able to share resources.
  • Design System updates: You can now use the new Control + Option + Command + K shortcut to go to the main component of an instance, hide/show variable paints and duplicate and paste styles across files.
  • You can now easily collapse all layers with a single click and automatically expand your selection and collapse it again when you unselect it. You can find the new button in the layers panel.
  • FigJam now has over 1700+ custom shapes from AWS, Google Cloud Platform, Azure, and Kubernetes.
  • You can now reorder Variable Collections and Modes.
  • Annotations can be created in design mode as well and have new colored categories to indicate what an annotation is for, for example: analytics, accessibility, development, ...
  • The color picker now has a built-in contrast checker, it will automatically check for WCAG contrast for text and graphics.
  • The eye dropper can now be used in Dev Mode
  • Figma Slides is out of beta with lots of new features:
    • Powerpoint import and export
    • Video controls for scrubbing and playback in the editor and viewer
    • Add slide numbers
    • Create components inside Slides
    • Animate individual objects
  • Common character combinations will now transform into smart symbols for all fonts, this means combinations like: (c), (R), (TM), ->, <-, vv, ^^, [ ] will transform into ©️, ®️, ™️, →, ← , ↓, ↑, ▢.

Penpot 2.6 Design Tokens

The latest version of Penpot now supports design tokens. It supports scaling to automatically update tokens based on a base scale. You can also create multi brand theme tokens that are built on top of light/dark modes, making it even more powerful compared to Figma's variables.

Sketch Athens (2025.1) beta

Sketch will soon release a big new update that's currently still in beta, here is everything new:

  • Stacks: Introducing an all-new layout tool that allows for the creation of complex, responsive designs by controlling size, padding, alignment, distribution, and styling.
  • New Containers: Frames and Graphics: Frames replace artboards with support for nesting and multiple styling properties, ideal for UI design. Graphics have a fixed size with proportionally resizing contents, suitable for icons and graphical elements.
  • Components in the Command Bar: You can now find and insert Symbols, Text Styles, and frame templates directly from the Command Bar, enhancing workflow efficiency.
  • Basic Styling for Text Overrides: Support for Markdown-like syntax allows for quick styling of text overrides, including bold, italic, and underline.
  • Optional Properties in Text Styles: Alignment and text color are now optional properties in Text Styles, reducing the need for multiple styles for different alignments.

Webflow

  • Webflow Optimize can now setup redirect tests. This is a sort of A/B test where you can send a part of the audience to another page, for example a redesign of your homepage that has been rebuilt.
  • Longer text can now be truncated without having to use custom CSS.
  • Assets and variable modes will now be shared across Shared Libraries, making your design systems even more powerful when building multiple websites with the same brand language.

Midjourney v7

  • Improved Image Quality: Version 7 offers richer textures and more coherent details, particularly enhancing the depiction of human features such as hands and faces.
  • Draft Mode: This new feature enables faster image generation at a reduced cost. Initial outputs are lower in resolution but can be upscaled to full quality using the “enhance” option.
  • Personalization Profiles: Users can now create multiple personalization profiles, allowing for quicker setup and the ability to tailor the model’s outputs to individual aesthetic preferences.

FlutterFlow updates

New accessibility features

  • A new Semantics Announce action has been added to announce dynamic messages to screen readers for example a form error, confirmation or real-time updates.
  • Dynamic semantic labels that can update for a more personalized experience when using a screen reader, for example when you are logged in, your username can be used instead of a basic profile label.
  • Keyboard navigation has been improved to allow you to set Focus Traversal Groups and assign a custom order for keyboard navigation.

You can customize the agents, automate interactions and improve the user experience with tools and function calling (coming soon). All with an easy setup so you don't have to code everything yourself.
