Design Thursday #31
A weekly recap of everything you need to know about tools, events, guidelines and design in general.
FigJam AI
A while ago Figma added Jambot, their AI widget, in FigJam. Now they have built the AI features right into the FigJam toolbar. You have the option to sort and summarise stickies and generate boards or diagrams with a prompt. This can speed up your process and help you organize your workshops.

Framer Collision Detection
Overlays are great to simplify your navigation and group items together. But you don’t always have control how they will show up on different screen sizes or when the context changes. Well no more, Framer added collision detection to automatically position overlays so they don’t get clipped or cut-off. There are some new properties to have more control over how collision detection behaves.
Sketch Smart Layout in groups and Artboards
Previously you could only apply Smart Layout on symbols to make them responsively scale or shrink down depending on the content. With Sketch v99 it’s now expanded to groups and artboards, making it much easier and faster to update your designs. What’s great, it comes with nearly any setup and will just work depending on how you designed something. So no complex menus, just position your elements and Smart Layout will figure out the rest.
Elastic Easing in Rive
Rive added a new easing option, elastic easing, also know as a spring animation. This option will animate an element with physics to achieve a more natural easing curve. You can apply it from the interpolation section.
Custom easing curves in Jitter
Jitter added custom easing curves in their latest update. You can choose from a few presets: smooth, natural, slow down, accelerate, elastic, bounce, overshoot, impulse and swing. Or you can tweak it to match your own preference.
Airbnb 2023 Winter Update
