Design Thursday #30
A weekly recap of everything you need to know about tools, events, guidelines and design in general.
New in FlutterFlow
There are a bunch of new features in FlutterFlow. The updates include custom API authentication, a carousel widget with multiple actions (like next, first and jump to), you can use JSON data to create Data Types to avoid accidental mistakes, improved UX for action flows and a lot more.
Framer Relative Overlays
New in Framer are Relative Overlays, this can be used to create navigation for example a dropout menu. You can position them in different ways, have appear effects, a dynamic safe area and you can add them frames, text and components.
Figma updated corner radius UI
A small but good Figma update this week, they updated the corner radius UI. This makes it easier to set variables for individual corners.
Omlet
Zeplin launched Omlet, their Design System Insights tool to get component analytics to measure the adoption of our design system so you can optimize or remove unused components.
Penpot API
Penpot, the open source alternative for Figma & Sketch, is becoming more open, as they introduced the Penpot API. This allows developers to build upon the tool, to make design more integrated in the development process.
They hosted a live stream to go over all the capabilities, you can watch it below:
